Didn't see too many topics discussing this game, so I thought I'd share my opinion, and help people on the fence decide if this Remaster is worth $40. If you've never played it, buy this right now. It's the best version of one of the best action games ever made, and if you don't know the story so far, the other games are only available on PS3
The Last Of Us: Part I. Shifting away from the fantasy, Norse, and god-like action of God of War, Naughty Dog's The Last of Us: Part I is still a cinematic and gameplay treat for fans of the former. Like several of Sony's first-party exclusives, that aforementioned cinematic-style narrative is sure to grip players from the start of the game
God of Grief. Was Enjoying the game up until the "Hades" game play in chapter one, The developers make the same mistake they do in a LOT of games, which is to make a battle Over Difficult to the point where it can require about 300 hundred replays before you defeat it and move on, if you do, I found this game more frustration than fun so I didn't finish it and wouldn't reccomend it.
The God of War Collection is currently one of Gamestop's "Two for $10" deal, along with God of War 3 and a bunch of other great, though slightly old, games. Seems like a much better deal. I'd say yes. It's about $40 for 5 games, 4 of which you've never played.
Have fun with God of War though! It is okay to play any game in easy if you want to or need to. The only exclusive content there is in GoW is in NG+, and is no tied to difficulty (even if NG+ is a bit harder than NG), and we're only talking about some armors, not important story point. Sorry to hear about the accident.

God of War 3 Remastered 9.99 (7.99 PS+ Price) how's this game for someone who has never played god of war? the new one looks pretty sick. If you like old school-ish linear hack-and-slash brutal games, you'll love it. I believe the new one is taking a different approach to the combat.
If you want to play ascension and god of war 3, both the games and console are cheap and widely available. Although you can pretty easily emulate the ps2 and psp games on pc and even android phones if you're not really interested enough in other games on the ps3 to justify getting another console, however I'd definitely say there are more than enough exclusives to get a ps3.

Because the first two are quite old. God of War 1&2 are PS2 games. The remastered versions of GoW 1&2 were released on PS3 and Vita. A while ago. It's just not new enough to make sense or look normal or good on a PS4. And a lot of us who have playstations for a long time have the remastered versions or have played through them many times.

Thats not entirely what I was getting at reka. Maybe I misunderstood the topic, what I meant was that while the GOW collection was remastered in HD for PS3, not all of the cutscenes received the same treatment. In game graphics are noticeably improved, as are CGI cutscenes, but the cutscenes using the in game engine are still PS2 era.
If you haven't played GOW 3 then yes, definitely. I played it on the ps3 when it released and then bought it remastered and played it again. Worth it in my opinion but it was crisp on the ps3 and its similar on the ps4
